DNR

I just put down one of our dogs. I bought him from Royalty Akitas in Lincoln, CA. He cornered my 3 year old child and bit her arm. I’ve had my Akita for going on 5 years. I spent a ton of time working with him trying to work out his aggression towards people. From the beginning he had genetic problems

So Sad

I think Don’s help is not giving the dogs the same love he did.  Also, I read where others thought they didn’t receive the pup they ordered and I have to agree with them.  Will I buy another pup from Don?  NO WAY!

Unfortunate

As our family reads these stories, we feel that we can connect with a little of all of them. We’ve had 3 dogs from Don and problems with each one. I don’t even know where to start. Long story short, our first male dog has an amazing temperament

Hoshi – My Long Hair Akita

My daughters purchased my Hoshi from Royalty Akitas on December 2016.  The transaction was conducted without my knowledge since Hoshi was a surprise Christmas present for me. Don (the owner) told my daughters that Hoshi was a “premium dog” and for that reason, he demanded $2000.00 plus an additional $350.00 fee …

Ronin’s offspring

It’s a long story but I’ll sum it up as best I can. If you want to read all of the details, click on the above tab Alaska Akitas after you read this abbreviated version. Ronin was purchased from Alaska Akitas but both of his parents (and the rest of this breeder’s dogs) came from Royalty Akitas in Lincoln, California. We purchased Ronin in March of 2016.

Additional negative reviews for Royalty Akitas are hidden…

I recently found out that some of the more negative reviews about Royalty Akitas posted to Yelp.com are hidden under the heading of “other reviews not currently recommended” down at the bottom of the page in small print. I did some research to find out why and found out that there are two primary reasons for hiding unfavorable reviews. . . .

Beware: Royalty Akita and Fraud

I have owned Akitas since the 1980’s having purchased them from reputable breeders, and I have never had any issues until my dealings with Royalty Akitas. Mr. Van Dermyden and I agreed upon my purchasing of Kingston, a puppy from the litter of Titan and Misty August 28, 2016. Two payments were made through PayPal for a total of $2000, with a discount if I purchased the puppy immediately. . . .

Hoss’s Anger

I purchased a puppy from Royalty Akitas 5 years ago.  It wasn’t the one we chose as the owner thought there was another who was a “better fit” for us.  We paid $1800.00 for him. . . .

Harley

In 2015 my family bought a male Akita puppy from Royalty Akitas and his name was Harley. He was born on March 6, 2015. We have had two Akitas before from different places and they were amazing, gentle, and good-natured. Immediately when Harley was a puppy, we noticed he didn’t like being picked up or held, and was sensitive about his back end being touched.

Bear’s Story

Not all breeders are the same is an obvious statement; but some breeders attempt to hide the fact that they breed a significant percentage of sick dogs by quickly replacing the sick puppy with another puppy regardless of the ongoing health issues that arise from their poor breeding practices. Some breeders may actually make you to sign a nondisclosure agreement before they agree to replace the sick puppy with a new one. We thought we had fully researched Royalty Akitas before we bought our puppy, but clearly, WE WERE WRONG!
